# Reducing disputes

> Best practices to prevent disputes before they happen.

Every dispute withdraws your funds and can cost a fee even when you win, and losses hurt your performance score. Prevention beats defence:

* **Always capture delivery confirmation** — tracking resolves most `product_not_received` disputes before they're filed.
* **Make refunds easy and support responsive** — most disputes are a failed support interaction in disguise.
* **Honor cancellations immediately** to avoid `subscription_canceled` disputes.
* **Keep complete records** — invoices, communication, delivery proof, and agreed terms. You can't submit evidence you didn't keep.
